Security Training - CCTV

The CCTV (PSS) course is designed for any person who wishes to work in the security sector that will have responsibility for the monitoring and recording of members of the public through CCTV as part of their role.

This course is a stand alone qualification that allows a candidate to gain a CCTV licence from the SIA.

There are 2 units for this qualification:

Unit 1: Roles and Responsibilities

  1. SIA Codes of practice
  2. Standard Operating Procedures
  3. Legislation relevant to the use of CCTV
  4. Health and Safety at work
  5. Fire and emergency procedures

Unit 2: CCTV Surveillance techniques

  1. CCTV equipment and operation
  2. Surveillance techniques
  3. Control room communication
  4. Access control

Course details and entry requirements

The course has a guided learning hours of 30 hours.  The course is delivered over 4 days and there are two 1 hour, multiple choice questions examination.

There is an age and criminality restriction on this course.  The minimum age to complete this course is 18 years of age.  A criminal records bureau check will be completed by the SIA post-examination to identify candidate suitability to gain SIA licences.

The cost of this course is £258.50 and includes VAT, materials, resources, tutorials and examinations.
